Balandra Beach is one of Mexico’s most stunning and protected coastlines. This beach holds such a special place in our hearts! It was our first international excursion.

To get there from La Paz, take Baja California Sur La Paz–El Tecolote, which eventually becomes Highway 11. You’ll pass beaches like Playa El Tesoro and Playa Pichilingue before arriving at Balandra.

🕗 Entry Time Slots & Capacity

• Access is limited to two daily time slots:

• Morning: 8:00 AM–12:00 PM

• Afternoon: 1:00 PM–5:00 PM

Once each slot reaches its capacity (around 450 visitors per session), gates close and no more people are admitted until the next time block.

📍 Important Rules & Tips

• Pack what you need. There are no food or drink vendors on the beach, so bring snacks, beverages, towels, sunscreen, shade, and any gear you want for a comfortable day.

We’ve enjoyed some of the best pizzas during their dinner hours, and their café is so cozy— the perfect spot to get your morning caffeine fix.

El Malecon is the waterfront boardwalk of La Paz, B.C.S. It’s a wonderful place to go for a run, explore the city, or to sit by the ocean and enjoy the views — whether in the quiet mornings or under the lights at night!
